Our Lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda, Fr Agnel Multipurpose High School, Verna, Loyola High School, Margao and Manovikas English Medium School, Margao entered the semi-finals of Salcete Taluka Under-14 Subroto Mukherjee inter-school football tournament organised by DSYA at Government ground, Manora, Raia on Thursday.
Rosary rallied to beat St Anthony’s High School, Majorda 1-0. The all-important goal was scored by Jesmal Soares.
Fr Agnel thrashed St Joseph Educational Institute, Chandor 4-1. Fr Agnel led 2-0 at the break .They went into the lead when Hemant Halgigar punished the goalkeeper with a stiff grounder. Josten Fernandes doubled the lead.
Crossing over, Fr Agnel continued to hold sway. Aniket K scored the third goal. Cleston Gomes rounded off the tally.
St Joseph pulled one back through Moses D’Sa.
Loyola registered a hard fought 1-0 win over spirited Infant Jesus High School, Colva. Infant Jesus High School held complete sway over their opponents and Loyola citadel Sneeden Madeira scored the match-winner.
Manovikas dethroned defending champions Bethany Convent High School, Sao Jose de Areal 1-0. Adnel Moulana struck the all-important goal in the first half off Brit Pereira.
