PANJIM: Congress has filed a complaint against the BJP National President Amit Shah for allegedly creating communal tension, threat and intimidation of the minorities, especially Christians and Muslims in Goa.
In his complaint to the Chief Electoral Officer, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) chief spokesperson Sunil Kawthankar has informed that Shah in a public speech in Darjeeling in West Bengal on April 11 publicly threatened the minorities in India especially Christians and Muslims.
He alleged that Shah’s speech gave communal colour by specifying certain religious groups in his speech. He has stated, “He has said will remove every infiltrator except Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs which gives it’s a communal colour. If the BJP leader had said he will remove infiltrators then it was ok but giving it a religious colour has created communal discord and fear and anxiety in the minds of the people of minority community.”
Quoting parts of Shah’s speech, Kawthankar said that it is violation of Articles 25 to 28 of the Constitution of Indian.
Kawthankar has demanded a police complaint against the BJP and Amit Shah for creating communal tension, threat and intimidation during the Lok Sabha polls.
