K’taka witness fails to state yield of Malaprabha basin

PANJIM: The cross-examination of the Karnataka witness, former Chairman of the Central Water Commission, AK Bajaj by the Mhadei Water Dispute Tribunal continued on Thursday.

PANJIM: The cross-examination of the Karnataka witness, former Chairman of the Central Water Commission, AK Bajaj by the Mhadei Water Dispute Tribunal continued on Thursday. 
The witness was asked whether in his report he has considered various aspects of the National Water Policy, to which he answered it has been considered, however, he failed to point out the same. 
The witness was thereafter asked whether as CWC chairman he had checked the modified DPRs of Malaprabha and had Karnataka taken all steps to ensure proper management of water in the Malaprabha Reservoir. The witness candidly admitted that he is not in a position to point the same.
