MERCES: In a listless encounter, Santa Cruz neighbours Crown Club and Cabesa SC played a goalless draw in an Ilhas Zone 3rd Division League match at Santa Cruz ground, Sunday.
However, Crown Club should have emerged winners but their strikers fumbled in front of the goal shooting wide.
And the main culprit for Crown was Anthony Po who had two glorious scoring opportunities come his way in the second half, but he wasted them both.
First, Po was superbly fed a through ball inside the danger zone and he had only the rival keeper to beat, but he shot wide.
Po then got an opportunity to make amends in the dying minutes of the match, but he again failed to beat the keeper.
Following in the footsteps of Po was Joylin Viegas who had an open goal at his mercy but his shot hit the cross bar and rebounded into play, much to the agony of the Crown supporters.
The referee flashed the lone yellow card of the match to Crown’s Anthony Po.
