Pissurlem Villagers facing water shortages for last 25-30 years

Ever since mining began around Pissurlem Village, the villagers have been facing a shortage of water. Due to mining the groundwater table has gone lower, making the village wells run dry in the months of March April and May. So for the last 25 to 30 years, the mining companies were supplying tanker water to the villages. Now that mining has stopped they have stopped supplying the water.

After a High Court petition was filed, the tap water supply in the villages improved and villagers get water in the morning. However, two wards of Pissurlem village continue to suffer.
