Salcete youth’s selfie with onion campaign on social media

After uploading a campaign picture, the person has to nominate two more persons to do the same

MARGAO: A youth from Salcete took up a unique initiative to protest against the rising prices of onion by launching a selfie with onion campaign on social media wherein after uploading a campaign picture the person has to nominate two more persons to do the same.
“It’s Modi’s Fever of Selfie, after selfie with daughter now it’s time for selfie with onion. I pass on this#OnionChallenge to my friends.High price of onion has led the market on fire,” said activist Siddhesh Bhagat who launched the campaign and started a page on Facebook as well.
His picture had crossed a large number of likes and shares and continues to gain popularity.
When asked about this campaign. Siddhesh said he thought this was the best way to criticize the government in its own style after seeing Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting different countries taking selfies and especially after Modi’s idea of selfie with daughter.
“Now a days, selfie has become a trend and this was the best way I could get this issue in mind of youth as 1kg onion price is somewhat equal to a dollar. We need to ask the present ruling government as where their promises of acche din vanished? Is it ACCHE DIN v/s SACCHE DIN? “ added youth activist
