In a strong statement addressing recent criticism, Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza defended the developmental work carried out in the constituency and rejected what he described as interference by “outsiders.”
“Ultimately, I am the elected representative of Mapusa. The people—Mhapshekars—have shown faith in us and elected me twice,” D’Souza said. “Residents are fully aware of the work done in the town. There’s no need for outsiders to dictate what should or shouldn’t be done here.”

Emphasizing a methodical and transparent approach to governance, D’Souza added, “We operate on a sustainable funding model. We don’t engage in overnight ‘dadagiri’ or rushed projects. Every development initiative follows a proper process, with complete documentation and adherence to official protocols.”
D’Souza’s remarks come amid growing public discourse around infrastructure and planning in Mapusa, with the MLA reaffirming his commitment to people-centric, rule-based development.
