VASCO: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said the four smart kiosks installed at MPT will be utilised to test Goan seafarers for COVID-19.
Rane said these kiosks will strengthen the fight against COVID-19 and added that keeping Goa safe and COVID free is the state government’s top priority.
Providing an update on the preparations made for welcoming Goan Seafarers by installing smart kiosks to check them for COVID 19 status, Rane tweeted saying, “We are all set to welcome our Goan brothers as the smart kiosks are being installed at Mormugao Port Trust. We are working hard to ensure the testing facilities are up at the Port, grateful to Ms Purti Kathpalia and her team for putting this together for the state of Goa, they have been a pillar of strength in this war against COVID -19 and our partners Wipro-GE who have supported us in this initiative”.
In another tweet, Rane said, “The kiosk will strengthen our fight against the virus and ensure we live up to the expectations of the people of Goa. Keeping Goa safe and COVID free has been our top priority”.
When asked as to when the seafarers are expected to reach at MPT, MPT chairman, Dr E Ramesh Kumar said, “As of now we have got no information when and how the seafarers will be coming”.
