Sachin, Dudley shine

PANJIM: A splendid performance from Sachin and Dudley in the category 120+  saw them win the final in straight sets against Mohan Ghatge and Sabnis, 6-3, 6-2 on day 3 of the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open, at the Clube Tennis De Gasper Dias, on Sunday. 
The pairing of Sachin and Dudley overcame Abdul Salam and Siraj in the semifinals earlier in the day, winning (4-0; 4-1).  
Mohan Ghatge and Sabnis  who fought their way in the semifinals against A. Kulkarni and R. Nimbalkar (4-1; 5-4) but went down in the finals against a splendid performance from Sachin and Dudley.
In the 60+ category, Manivannan got the better of Rafiq Khotu in straight sets winning 6-1,6-2. 
Manivannan got off to a flying start in the first set to keep the high tempo taking the first set 6-1. 
The second set continued in the same fashion as Manivannan breezed through to claim the title. On his way to the finals Manivannan defeated DB Jaid in the semis.
As the day progressed the fans were entertained as the 90+ category threw up an exciting game. 
The pairing of Prithviraj Ingle and Dr. Sabnis were given a tough fight by Sheetal and Rahul. 
The game witnessed Ingle and Sabnis carving out a hard-fought win 6-3,1-6,10-6 to win the doubles title in the 90+ category. 
Ingle and Sabnis won the first set 6-3 and looked on course to an easy win but Sheetal and Rahul fought hard to win the second set 6-1.
 In the third and final set Ingle and Sabnis brought their A game once again to win 10-6 and claim the title.
In the 45+ category, Rajendra Godinho won his game comfortably against Ashish Pant in straight sets 6-2,6-1 to claim the singles title.
