MAPUSA: Candolim Sports Club registered a comfortable 2-0 win over Pilerne Sports Club in the GFA’s Second Division League match, at Poriat ground, here on Sunday.
The Pilerne players did not have one single good attempt at the rival goal but saw two of the players Ryan D’Souza and Anson D’Souza being cautioned by the referee Deep Govekar for rough play.
On crossing ends, in the 72nd minute, Candolim surged ahead when Blake Haldankar combined with Michael Dias who in turn set up Pundalik Naik inside the penalty box who beat the keeper with a neat placement to take the lead.
Just four minutes later, Candolim doubled their lead as medio Michael Dias found Rama Parsenkar inside the 18-yard box with a fine floater who scored past the onrushing the Pilerne keeper to make it 2-0.
