PANJIM: A 40-year-old woman from Vasco attempted self-immolation in front of the Vasco police station on Thursday night.
Following an altercation with her live-in partner, the woman came to the police station and in a fit of anger poured diesel and set herself ablaze.
The policemen on duty doused the fire and immediately rushed her to the hospital.
She was later shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim for treatment as she has suffered 75 per cent burn injuries.
Police said that the woman had earlier come to the police station complaining that her husband, a taxi driver, is missing. Police then contacted him and found that he had gone to drop a customer and that he would return back later.
After he returned, both entered into a quarrel and the woman again rushed to the police station and attempted self-immolation.
