MARGAO: Lavina Boys, Fatorda edged past St Joaquim Boys, Marlem 3-2 via tie-breaker to emerge champions in the All Goa 5-a-side football tournament organized by Fatorda Youth Club, at SAG sports complex, Fatorda.
Lavina Boys were richer by Rs 20,000 while St Joaquim Boys had to settle for Rs 10,000. Friends United, Nuvem defeated Shiv Boys, Balli and bagged Rs 5000.
In all 83 team participated. Gurudas Vernekar, Stadium Manager, Nehru Stadium, Fatorda was the chief guest and gave away the prizes.
Earlier, Sujay S. Lotlikar chairman of Fatorda Youth Club welcomed the chief guest while Shubham Halgekar, president of Fatorda Youth Club proposed a vote of thanks.
The tournament was declared open by Sujay Lotlikar, organizing chairman.
Following individual prizes were awarded: First scorer of the final — Christian Araujo (Lavina Boys), best defender Ronaldo Colaco (Friends United of Nuvem), player of the Tournament — Joel Carrona (St Joaquim Boys).
