MARGAO: Robbers struck again in Aquem, Margao, on Tuesday, breaking into a medical store and a fast-food outlet, stealing valuables, cash, and a mobile phone.

According to sources, the owner of the medical store discovered the theft at 9 am, upon reaching her shop. She found that the shutter had been cut open and alerted the police. Upon police arrival, the shop was examined, revealing missing cash. It was reported that two of the shop’s shutters had been broken open.
The fast-food outlet also fell victim to the thieves, with Rs 2,000 in cash and a mobile phone stolen. Police conducted a panchanama, deployed a dog squad, and called in fingerprint experts to investigate both incidents.
This robbery follows an incident on Sunday, where seven shops at the New Market were ransacked. In these cases, the robbers targeted cash, leaving the traders frustrated with the lack of progress in apprehending the culprits.
Traders and residents havehave demanded restoration of safety and prevent further incidents.
The Margao police have yet to make any arrests in connection to these thefts, prompting calls for intensified efforts and better vigilance throughout the town.
