The 2025 Super Cup will kick off the Indian football season on October 25 in Goa, confirmed an AIFF official. All ISL clubs except Odisha FC are participating, joined by I-League teams — Inter Kashi, Real Kashmir, Gokulam Kerala FC, and Rajasthan United. The tournament draw is scheduled to be held virtually this Thursday.
This year, the Super Cup breaks tradition by opening the season instead of concluding it. The winning team will earn a 2026-27 AFC Champions League 2 play-off spot, subject to Premier 1 Licensing compliance.
FC Goa, last season’s Super Cup champions, secured entry into the ACL 2 play-offs and progressed to the group stage. The AIFF clarified that clubs failing at the ACL 2 stage will enter the AFC Challenge League (ACGL), maintaining Indian club presence in continental competitions.
The ISL has faced uncertainty due to the pending Master Rights Agreement (MRA) between AIFF and FSDL, but with the Supreme Court approving AIFF’s new constitution, the future of Indian football looks set for stability and growth.
