The panchas who filed the motion had accused Fernandes of being passive in the panchayat decision-making. They are: Menino Fernandes, Blaizy Fernandes, Cajy Fernandes, Natalina Fernandes and Calvert Gonsalves.
Addressing the media, Cajy stated, “The motion had been moved because of the puppet-style functioning of the deputy sarpanch, who did not help to do any good for the people of Colva. Blanca had been passive when it came to making decisions for the betterment of the people. She had also taken blind decisions with the support of a previous sarpanch.”
Incidentally, Colva Sarpanch Snowkon Gonsalves had also been removed following accusations of illegalities.
