The Farmers–Tenants Association of Ilhe de Rachol (Zunvear) has issued a stern warning to the sluice gate auction taker, demanding that he clear all pending auction dues by October 30, failing which the association has resolved to initiate legal action.
The warning comes amid growing anger among local farmers who allege that negligence by the auction taker has led to severe waterlogging and paddy crop damage in the area.

At a meeting held on Sunday, farmers expressed serious concern over the issue and unanimously demanded that the concerned person be held accountable. The association members claimed that the delay in payment and mismanagement of the sluice gate operations have caused significant losses to cultivators.
Joseph Vas, Sarpanch of the Rachol village panchayat and an office bearer of the Farmers–Tenants Association, informed that a formal resolution was passed during the meeting.
“It has been decided to give the auction taker time till October 30 to pay the remaining amount. Farmers have also resolved to initiate legal proceedings if he fails to do so. The said auction taker has so far paid only one instalment and has defaulted on the remaining dues,” Vas stated.
He added that the committee’s decision was taken in response to mounting demands from affected farmers, who say the sluice gate’s poor management has led to losses.
One of the farmers attending the meeting narrated the extent of the losses suffered. “I got only three sacks of paddy instead of thirty. This is the result of negligence by the auction taker,” he said.
