RAIA: Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Chinchinim, stormed into the semi-finals of the under-19 boys football tournament organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA) at the Cuncolim football ground with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School.
The Chinchinim side made their intentions clear early on, taking the lead in the 8th minute when captain Aaron Fernandes scored directly from a free kick. Ammencio Fernandes extended the advantage before half-time, putting Mount Mary’s firmly in control of the tie.
In the second half, Rakesh Singha sealed the result in style, unleashing a stunning long-range strike in the 74th minute to make it 3-0.
With this comprehensive win, Mount Mary’s HSS, Chinchinim, advanced to the semi-finals scheduled for November 20.
