Vasco Police Book Woman for Allegedly Concealing Portuguese Nationality to Enrol in Electoral Roll

Vasco Police have registered a case against a woman from Bhute Bhat for allegedly suppressing her Portuguese nationality and fraudulently enrolling her name in the electoral roll of the 25-Vasco Assembly Constituency.

The case was registered following a complaint filed by the Mormugao Mamlatdar and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO). According to the complaint, the woman allegedly declared herself eligible to be included in the voters’ list despite reportedly holding a Portuguese passport.

Authorities stated that by allegedly concealing her foreign nationality, the accused managed to get her name entered into the electoral roll, which is considered a violation of election and nationality-related regulations.
