Goa Minister Sudin Dhavalikar has stated that the rise in power bills is not due to the government, urging consumers to ensure that their electricity load is properly regularised.
Speaking on the issue, Dhavalikar said that if applications related to load fluctuation are submitted correctly, the authorities can consider reviewing or addressing any fines that may have been imposed.

He also appealed to consumers to check whether they have increased their power load without proper approval. According to the minister, notices have already been issued to individuals asking them to regularise their electricity load.
“We have been giving notices and asking people to work on their loads. If they correct it, then everything will happen properly,” he said.
Dhavalikar emphasised that once consumers regularise the additional load and complete the required procedures, the issue of penalties and billing discrepancies can be resolved accordingly.
