Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have begun their preparations for the 2026 Indian Premier League at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, with several key players joining the camp. Star batter Virat Kohli was among the notable names in attendance, alongside captain Rajat Patidar, Krunal Pandya, Jitesh Sharma, Suyash Sharma, and veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The team is training under head coach Andy Flower as they gear up for the new season.
However, pacer Yash Dayal remains a notable absentee from the camp, raising questions about his availability for the upcoming tournament. The left-arm seamer was not seen during the opening day on March 18, nor has he appeared in team visuals or social media updates shared by the franchise. Even images of the team bus circulating online do not feature him.
Adding to the mystery, a recent video shared by his wife showed Dayal training away from the squad, facing throwdowns from a side-arm specialist, indicating he is still active but not with the RCB group. Despite attempts to seek clarity, there has been no official response from the franchise regarding his absence.
Dayal’s last competitive appearance dates back to June 2025, when he featured in the IPL final against the Punjab Kings. Since then, he has not played any domestic cricket, with reports suggesting he was not considered by Uttar Pradesh due to an ongoing legal matter. Officials also revealed difficulties in contacting the player over the past year.
With the IPL season approaching, uncertainty continues over whether Dayal will rejoin the squad or miss out entirely, leaving fans and team management awaiting clarity.
