In Goa’s shocking Curchorem sexploitation scandal, alleged accused Soham Naik faces escalating legal pressure. A court has remanded him to six days’ police custody in a second registered case, with five FIRs now filed against the 26-year-old son of BJP-backed councillor Sushant Naik.
Naik, arrested after protests at Curchorem Police Station, allegedly sexually assaulted minor girls and women over three years, luring them with marriage promises, recording obscene material, and blackmailing victims. The Crime Branch invoked POCSO Act, Goa Children’s Act, and BNS sections.
Previously sent to 14 days’ judicial custody after initial police remand, Naik will face JMFC Quepem for further questioning. Police attached his SUV used in crimes; probe is ongoing.
