A court in Merces has issued a non-bailable warrant against Geetesh Naik, the AAP candidate for the Ponda by-election, in connection with an alleged cheque bounce case involving ₹5 lakh.
The court took note of Naik’s repeated absence despite prior directions to appear and rejected his plea seeking exemption from personal appearance. The case, which has been pending since 2021, prompted the court to take stricter action to ensure compliance.
