A worrying surge in child abuse and online grooming cases has raised serious concerns in South Goa, with Bailancho Ekvott warning that children are increasingly being targeted both online and within familiar surroundings.
Highlighting recent instances of manipulation and exploitation, the group stressed that offenders are using digital platforms as well as trusted environments to approach and groom minors. The situation, they said, calls for immediate and coordinated intervention.
Bailancho Ekvott has urged authorities to strengthen law enforcement measures, ensure stricter monitoring of online activities, and take swift action against offenders. The organisation also emphasised the need for greater awareness among parents and guardians to recognise early warning signs and safeguard children.
The group reiterated that tackling the issue requires a collective effort involving law enforcement agencies, communities, and families to curb the growing threat and ensure the safety of children.
