Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant attended a special screening of the Konkani film Umesh at Entertainment Society of Goa in Panaji, where he felicitated director Vardhan Kamat and his team.
The event was also attended by MLA and ESG Vice Chairperson Delilah Lobo. The Chief Minister praised the film for its authentic portrayal of local life and culture, calling it a commendable effort by the director, cast, and crew.

Congratulating everyone involved, he highlighted the importance of regional cinema in preserving Goa’s language and cultural identity. The Government of Goa also reiterated its commitment to supporting and promoting Konkani films.
Umesh is scheduled to release in theatres across Goa on April 11, 2026, with best wishes extended for its success.
