According to Delhi Police sources, a PCR call was received at the Safdarjung Enclave police station around 1:45 pm. The call was made by the judge’s brother-in-law, a resident of Defence Colony, who informed authorities that Sharma had died by suicide in the bathroom.

Police teams rushed to the spot and found Sharma inside the bathroom. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Preliminary findings suggest that the death was caused by hanging. Officials have stated that no signs of foul play have been detected so far, though all possible angles are being examined as part of the investigation.

The body has been sent for postmortem, and statements from family members and close associates are being recorded to piece together the sequence of events.

Sharma had joined the Delhi Judicial Service on June 19, 2021, after completing his law degree from Symbiosis Law School in 2018. During his tenure, he handled both civil and criminal matters and had been serving as a full-time DLSA Secretary since October 2025.
