Street Providence Goa Honours Industries for Supporting Hunger Relief and Reducing Food Waste

Partnership with Food Bank for the Poor helps deliver surplus food to vulnerable communities across Goa.

PANAJI: Street Providence Goa, in collaboration with Food Bank for the Poor, felicitated industries and individuals for their contributions to combating hunger and reducing food waste across the state.

The initiative collects surplus yet hygienic food from factory and industrial canteens and redistributes it to slum communities, shelter homes, orphanages, and other vulnerable groups. Chief Guest Nilkant Halarnkar commended the participating industries for turning excess food into a valuable resource for families in need.

Several companies, including Lupin, Siemens, and Cipla, were recognised for their support. Organisers highlighted that the joint efforts of industries, NGOs, and volunteers have enabled thousands of nutritious meals to reach underserved communities, making a meaningful impact in the fight against hunger in Goa.
