Margao Man Booked for Alleged Domestic Cruelty, Extortion and Death Threats

The Colva Police have registered a case against a 31-year-old man from Margao following a complaint filed by his wife, alleging prolonged domestic cruelty, assault, criminal intimidation and extortion.

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly subjected the woman to continuous harassment and retained her gold ornaments. She further alleged that he threatened to circulate her private photographs and demanded ₹2 crore from her.

The complainant also accused the man of threatening to kill her if his monetary demand was not met.

Based on the complaint, the Colva Police have registered an offence under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation has been initiated into the allegations.

Police said further inquiry is underway to ascertain the facts and take appropriate legal action in accordance with the law.
