To make matters worse, hotels offer very little to what tourists pay. Moreover, it appears star ratings given to hotels are questionable and dubious.
Pathways to beaches are lined with rubbish while shack toilets are unhygienic and unusable. There is garbage strewn all over with hardly any bins. If you have litter there is not one bin in Candolim.
On the positive side, eating out is great while Goans are gentle, wonderful and friendly people.
Unless the government improves on the ground realities of Goan tourism, Goa will have a year on year decline of foreign tourists.
I feel like I am ranting, but I feel Goans will miss out on a well deserved industry. Lobby through your councilors and government, set up your own bodies as you seem to be paying taxes for zip. We met some wonderful Goans and will always remember them.
