Two houses were waterlogged and a road inundated for about 3 hours at Pale-Velsao, due to overflow of a lake due to heavy rains that lashed the State on Tuesday.
According to Velsao-Pale Sarpanch Olga D’Souza, the water overflows from the lake whenever there is heavy rain.
“The water in the lake had been blocked for fish breeding. As the water began to overflow, the road got inundated and waterlogged two houses,” the sarpanch said adding that later the water was released.
Fire brigade and officials from the revenue department also visited the site.
