A bulb pertaining to a streetlight fixture adjacent to Bank of Baroda at Varkhandem in Ponda has been noticed in a hanging position for quite some time now. Linemen of the Electricity Department deputed at this strategic location have failed to rectify this defect. As on Friday, May 26 at 6 pm, situation in this regard remained unchanged. Further, this particular fixture has been found non-functional on most occasions. Hence necessary repairs should be undertaken at once so that travellers and pedestrians are assured proper illumination on road during the night.
Let us hope that the higher officials at the Electricity Department in Ponda would take a note of important matter and initiate prompt favourable action in public interest. Timely maintenance work by this department would indeed assure relief to one and all.
