MARGAO: Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club, Paroda defeated Maina Sports Club 2-0 in a Salcete Zone GFA Second Division league at Curtorim ground, Monday. Fr Agnelo led 1-0 at half time.
Fr Agnelo dominated with their midfielders and forwards working in tandem. They went into the lead when Francis Neves bulged the net in the 10th minute off Patrick Lima.
Maina tried their best to come back into the game but their forwards frittered away easy chances.
After the break, Fr Agnelo continued to dictate terms and doubled the lead 15 minutes before the long whistle when Ramachandra Gaonkar slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot.
With this win, Fr Agnelo collected seven points from five matches while Maina have two points from the same number of encounters.
