PANJIM: The Western Digital company is focusing on increasing the availability of WD products to address the growing potential of digital storage solutions in Goa.
The demand is pronounced in Panjim, Margao and Vasco, and is gradually catching up in other cities of Goa. Goa has seen an increase in the number of hotels, restaurants and other tourist-centric attractions.
“Where can people store and back up their heavy data files, such as documents, presentations, audios, videos, etc? They need storage products they can trust. Nowadays, consumers are making informed choices based on capacity, reliability, and workload capability of storage solutions. Goa is not different. We hope to earn customers’ business in Goa” said Subroto Das, Director – India & South Asia, WD.
He added, “Panjim is the capital of Goa and is witnessing a growth in tourism and student population who require digital storage and backup solutions for their recreational and educational needs. Besides, owners of business units like hotels who reside in the state also require digital storage solutions such as robust surveillance drives for their CCTV cameras. ”
WD is seeking to add new channel partners in more locations to increase the availability in line with demand of its popular internal drives in Goa including WD Blue (everyday storage), WD Green (capacity storage), WD Black (performance storage), WD Red and recently launched WD Red Pro (for network-attached storage) and WD Purple (for video surveillance applications).
After-sales support is one of the crucial considerations for customers. WD’s products are backed by warranty and replacement service in India. WD ExpressSM is a service that offers the option of a pick-up and drop facility of WD products from the users’ homes in that state. Alternatively, consumers can avail themselves of the replacement facility at WD’s drop-point at Panjim (Santa Cruz).
WD products are sold in Goa through a strong partner network that comprises three national distributors and around 150 partners, resellers and system integrators.
In PanjiM, WD will be interacting with end users, system integrators, and channel partners on the importance of storing and backing up important data and digital files.
