The ‘chikki’ contract of Women and Child Welfare Minister of Maharashtra, Pankaja Munde was a departure from all laid down purchase rules and indeed was a shocking revelation of disregard to public health and safety, particularly of innocent children.
The BJP-led government after coming to power ought to have been doubly careful regarding transactions involving public money, when the Prime Minister stands as an epitome of righteousness . However, it appears from the dealings of certain BJP ministers, both at Centre and States, that they have taken the system for granted and have a free license to do want they want, regardless of public opinion and propriety.
The people of this country brought the BJP to power because they were absolutely fed up with corruption at various levels during UPA rule. Now the BJP has merely whitewashed the wrong doings of the previous government by outwitting and surpassing them in the same field. Therefore, it is an accepted fact that no political party is free from corruption. Many of their leaders also don’t care for public
image or party’s reputation: else ministers like Pankaja Munde, Vasundhara Raje and Sushama Swaraj ought to have rendered their
resignations to prove their bonafide.
On the whole, the hapless people are now so ashamed of their inability to identify non corrupt politicians
