A distress audio recording from the tanker MT Marivex, reportedly struck by the US Navy off the coast of Oman, has surfaced online, revealing the desperate plea of a crew member asking authorities for immediate assistance as the vessel caught fire and began sinking.
The incident occurred on Monday when the Palau-flagged tanker, which had been blacklisted and sanctioned by the United States, was reportedly hit by a missile after attempting to bypass the US blockade of Iranian ports.

In the audio message, a crew member can be heard urgently calling for help, saying, “Sir, this is motor tanker Marivex… We have fire on board, and vessel is sinking,” highlighting the gravity of the situation as flames engulfed the vessel.
The tanker was carrying 24 Indian crew members at the time of the attack. According to reports, all of them were successfully rescued by the Omani military, averting what could have been a major maritime tragedy.
