Haryana IAS officer Amneet Kumar is facing a police case amid a series of shocking events involving her family and law enforcement personnel. Her husband, Haryana IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, died by suicide last week, citing “mental harassment” and “caste discrimination” by senior officers in an eight-page final note.
The case took a darker turn when Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sandeep Kumar of Rohtak’s cyber cell, who was investigating a corruption case against Puran Kumar, also died by suicide on Tuesday using his service revolver in a field in Rohtak. In his suicide note and a video message, ASI Sandeep Kumar accused Puran Kumar of corruption and claimed that he took his own life out of fear that his alleged activities would be exposed. Sandeep Kumar also leveled serious allegations against Amneet Kumar.

The family of ASI Sandeep Kumar, demanding justice, requested that an FIR be registered before consenting to his post-mortem. Sandeep Kumar had been involved in the arrest of Head Constable Sushil Kumar, an alleged aide of Puran Kumar.
Following these developments, Santosh Kumar, the wife of ASI Sandeep Kumar, filed an FIR against Amneet Kumar, her brother and Punjab AAP MLA Amit Rattan, and several others. Authorities are currently investigating the intertwined cases, which have raised questions regarding alleged corruption, administrative misconduct, and accountability within the Haryana police and civil services.
