India has pitched the Akash missile system to Brazil as Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held extensive talks with Brazilian Vice-President Geraldo Alckmin in New Delhi on October 15, 2025. The discussions focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries and exploring defence cooperation opportunities.
The meeting, attended by Brazil’s Defence Minister José Múcio Monteiro Filho, covered priority areas for joint work, including co-development and co-production of defence equipment, military-to-military exchanges, and joint training exercises. Officials indicated that India proposed supplying the Akash missile system to Brazil as part of expanding defence collaboration.
“The leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to advance defence cooperation and explore new avenues for strategic partnership,” the Indian Ministry of Defence said in a statement
