J&K LG Manoj Sinha Highlights Full Implementation of Constitution Post Article 370 Abrogation

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, on Wednesday, highlighted the historic significance of the full implementation of the Indian Constitution in the region following the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A in 2019. His remarks came during Constitution Day celebrations in Jammu.

“After a long wait of 67 years, provisions of the Constitution were made fully applicable to J&K in 2019, ending decades of discrimination and injustice. Today, J&K is progressing guided by the ideals of equity, social and economic justice as envisioned by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar,” Sinha said during his speech.

The LG called upon policymakers and officials to uphold constitutional values and ensure the protection of citizens’ rights across the Union Territory.

Sinha also stressed that his administration’s focus has been on improving citizens’ lives, eliminating discrimination and injustice, dismantling the terror ecosystem, and ensuring that central government schemes reach the most marginalized sections of society.

Addressing critics, he added, “Those who ask what has been achieved over the past five years should know that the practice of rewarding separatists and torturing patriots has been completely stopped. By fully implementing constitutional provisions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured honour, pride, and dignity for every resident of J&K.”

The LG’s speech reinforced the ongoing efforts to integrate J&K fully into India’s constitutional and developmental framework while promoting social and economic justice in the region.
