Amid rising global fuel prices and growing economic pressure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for collective efforts to reduce unnecessary fuel consumption and strengthen India’s economy through responsible public behaviour.
Addressing concerns over increasing international energy costs and their impact on the country, the Prime Minister urged citizens, businesses, and institutions to adopt practical measures aimed at conserving fuel and reducing avoidable expenditure.
Among the key suggestions put forward by Modi were greater adoption of work-from-home arrangements wherever feasible and increased use of virtual meetings in place of unnecessary travel. He said such steps could significantly reduce fuel usage while improving efficiency.
The Prime Minister also encouraged citizens to make wider use of public transport systems and promote carpooling to help lower fuel demand and ease pressure on the economy.
In addition, Modi appealed to people to avoid extravagant destination weddings abroad, stating that such events contribute to the outflow of valuable foreign exchange reserves. He stressed that supporting domestic tourism and hosting celebrations within India would benefit the national economy.
Highlighting the importance of collective responsibility during challenging global economic conditions, Modi said every small effort by citizens could contribute towards strengthening the country’s financial stability and reducing dependence on imported fuel.
