Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday reviewed preparations at the Varanasi railway station ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency, during which the PM will inaugurate four new Vande Bharat Express trains.
According to official sources, PM Modi’s visit will begin on Friday, and he will flag off Vande Bharat trains on the Banaras–Khajuraho, Lucknow–Saharanpur, Firozpur–Delhi, and Ernakulam–Bengaluru routes.

During the review, Chief Minister Adityanath was briefed by senior railway and district officials on beautification works, security arrangements, passenger amenities, and event venue preparations. He instructed officials to ensure that the visit is smooth, well-coordinated, and free of any negligence, while emphasising cleanliness, efficient traffic control, and strict security across the station premises.
A statement from the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said the new Vande Bharat trains will reduce travel time, boost regional connectivity, and promote tourism and economic activity across major corridors of the country.
The Banaras–Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express, in particular, will establish direct connectivity on this route and save approximately two hours and 40 minutes compared to existing special trains, the statement added.
