Trump Celebrates Iran Peace Deal on 80th Birthday as US-Iran Agreement Set for June 19 Signing

US President Donald Trump celebrated his 80th birthday on Sunday by highlighting what he described as a landmark agreement to end the conflict involving Iran, ahead of a unique birthday event featuring a UFC mixed martial arts show on the South Lawn of the White House.

The President had been promoting the anticipated peace agreement for several weeks, although renewed strikes in the conflict just days earlier had threatened to overshadow the occasion. Despite the tensions, the White House hosted the UFC event, where fighters competed inside an octagonal cage in bouts featuring punches, kicks and various mixed martial arts techniques.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the agreement between the United States and Iran is scheduled to be formally signed in Switzerland on June 19. According to Sharif, the deal will include a cessation of military operations in Lebanon, a key condition sought by Tehran during the negotiations.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi also confirmed that both sides had reached an agreement, adding that the memorandum’s text would be made public following the official signing ceremony.

The conflict has kept global energy markets on edge since late February, when the United States and Israel launched military strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear programme, triggering heightened geopolitical tensions and concerns over regional stability.
