Two Killed, Six Injured As Pickup Truck Crashes On Agra-Lucknow Expressway

Two people lost their lives and six others sustained injuries after a speeding pickup truck lost control and rammed into a divider on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao district on Tuesday.

The accident occurred in the Bangarmau area of the district. According to preliminary investigations, the driver may have dozed off while driving, causing the vehicle to veer out of control. CCTV footage from the expressway shows the pickup truck moving along the middle lane before suddenly swerving and crashing into the divider. The impact was severe, and several passengers were reportedly thrown off the vehicle due to the force of the collision.

Police identified the deceased as the driver, Murari, and a three-year-old girl named Shiksha, both of whom died on the spot. The six injured passengers were immediately rushed to a nearby health centre by responding officers. Due to the seriousness of their injuries, they were later referred to the district hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

Authorities have sent the bodies of the deceased for post-mortem examination and are continuing their investigation into the incident. Further details regarding the condition of the injured passengers are awaited.
