A Class 10 student at a government high school allegedly assaulted a teacher during a heated argument inside a classroom in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. The incident occurred at Veeravalli Zilla Parishad High School in Bapulapadu mandal and was captured on video, which later surfaced on social media and quickly went viral.
According to officials, the confrontation began when the teacher reprimanded the student during school hours. What reportedly started as a routine warning soon escalated into a tense exchange between the two.
In the video circulating online, the student can be seen arguing with the teacher before suddenly punching him. The altercation caused panic among other students and staff present in the classroom.
Sources said the student later claimed he reacted after the teacher allegedly used abusive language about his mother during the argument. However, authorities have not independently confirmed the claim.
School officials subsequently reported the matter to the education department as well as the police. Since the student involved is a minor, he was summoned for questioning and counselling rather than immediate punitive action.
Officials said further inquiry is underway to determine the exact sequence of events and to decide on appropriate action. The incident has sparked discussion locally about discipline in schools and the handling of conflicts between students and teachers.
