PANJIM: Over 150 officers serving from the rank of a sub-inspector to deputy superintendents of police have been transferred in the State ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Nine DySPs, 46 police inspectors and 101 PSIs have been transferred in an order issued on Friday.
Among the DySPs, Nelson Albuquerque is posted as SDPO Ponda, while Serafine Dias will be holding the charge of Margao sub-division in addition to the charge of DySP Konkan Railway. Kiran Poduval has been transferred as Quepem SDPO while Rajendra Raut Dessai is posted as DySP, Security Panjim, Mahesh Gaonkar as DySP Crime Branch in addition to ANC and ATS, and Uttam Raut Desai as SDPO Panjim. Sammy Tawares has been posted as SDPO to Porvorim and Gajanan Prabhudesai who was awaiting posting is given the charge of PHQ Panjim and additional charge of SPCR.
Some among the PIs include Panjim PI Siddhant Shirodkar who is now posted to Crime Branch in Ribandar while Calangute PI Jivba Dalvi is transferred to Anti Narcotics Cell by replacing Suraj Haldankar who is posted at Ponda. Mapusa PI Tushar Lotlikar has been given the charge of Margao police station whereas CB PI Rahul Parab is the Colva PI as per the order. Anjuna PI C L Patil is posted at CB, EOC PI Rajendra Prabhudesai to Economic Offenses Cell, Bicholim PI Sanjay Dalvi to Special Branch in Panjim and CB PI Vishwesh Karpe has swapped the posting with Porvorim PI Paresh Naik. Several other PIs and PSIs are also among the transferred officers’ list.
The move has been made as per the guidelines issued by the Election Commission stating that officers who have completed three years in one unit or are still in the same posting as they were in the last assembly or Lok Sabha elections should be transferred. A large number of transferred policemen were in fact posted at their outgoing post during the last State assembly elections in the year 2017.
