PANJIM: Porvorim Police arrested two Nigerians for peddling drugs in Pilerne, Bardez. One of those arrested is already undergoing trial for a similar offence.
Nkeoga Chidi (38) and Lionze Nwato Ambrose (32) were held for peddling weed popularly known as ‘marijuana’. Both were apprehended by a team led by PI Jivba Dalvi when they had gone to deliver the narcotics.
Police recovered 2kg of narcotics from the accused and have seized a motorcycle from the accused.
Dalvi said police had information that Chidi was dealing in narcotics despite being booked in 2015 by the Calangute police for dealing with cocaine. He was out on bail and the case against him is being tried in the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Court, he said.
“After laying a trap we nabbed both the accused with the narcotics,” Dalvi said.
