2 Russians die at Baga, Vainguinnim

Two Russian women died in separate incidents at Baga and Vainguinnim beaches on Monday.
According to Drishti reports, Svetlana Kakharav (70), who was swimming in the waters at Baga, was noticed crying for help.
Lifeguards Darshan Gawandi, Surat Shiddekar, Gourish Kalangutkar, Viraj Valekar and Vitthal Mhatnekar immediately rushed to her rescue, however their efforts proved futile.
She was later declared brought-in dead at PHC Candolim.
In the second incident at Vainguinim Beach, Irina Oganesyan (78) collapsed while she was strolling on the beach. She was rushed to GMC Hospital in Bambolim in an unconscious state.
Lifeguards Basavraj and Amar Tuyekar rushed her to the hospital, but she was declared brought-in dead at the hospital.
