2 works at Madel approved: Damu

Fatorda MLA Damu Naik has claimed that he has managed to get approval for the desilting of the Madel nullah, besides road hotmixing works costing Rs 1.5 crore in this Margao Municipal ward.
Incidentally, PWD Minister, Churchill Alemao has said that he has approved the file for the two works at Madel due to constant follow-up done by GPCC General Secretary Vijay Sardessai.
The Fatorda MLA pointed out that work on the desilting of the Madel nullah will be soon be tendered at a cost of Rs 91 lakh. “The work was pending due to various hurdles, and by some vested elements who are out to take political mileage without doing anything”, Naik said.
Moreover, he said that hotmixing of the Mutt road connecting Model School area will be taken up soon as the condition of the road due to the laying of the sewerage line.
Apart from these works, the Fatorda MLA pointed out that two major works have also been sanctioned for hotmixing of all internal lanes costing Rs 1.87 crore, adding that many other developmental projects have been mooted and is awaiting clearance.
Meanwhile, PWD Minister, Churchill Alemao said at a function at Borda that he has cleared desilting of the Madel nullah, besides hot mixing of the roads, especially in the Madel area of Fatorda constituency.
