PANJIM: Crime Branch sleuths arrested 20 persons, Thursday evening, after busting illegal gambling rings operating in the Panjim market, where students are regular customers. Around 18 slot machines and electronic roulette machines, besides other gaming machines, were seized.
“There had been complaints about the illegal activity near the main Corporation of City of Panjim (CCP) market where school and college going students frequented the most. They would bunk classes to gamble there. We conducted a recce and raided the two places thereafter,” CB SP Kartik Kashyap said.
