DySP Shirodkar said that since January 2023, the department had booked 29,000 cases against those violating the Motor Vehicle Act (MVH) in Pernem. “We are not going to compromise on enforcement of traffic laws. People, especially tourists misuse the law and do what they like. Offenders will not be spared in the future as they have to respect the law of the land in letter and spirit,” said Shirdokar and added that the drive would continue in Pernem taluka and all agencies would join hands to see that the violators are booked as fatal accidents are on the rise since people take the law lightly.
