Four candidates have filed their nomination papers for the October 31 Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) elections.
The four candidates filed their nominations with Mormugao Deputy Collector’s office on Monday, the first day of filing nomination.
Two women, Sparsha Chodankar from Ward 4 and Sangeeta D Raut from Ward 13, while John D’Souza from Ward 11 and Ramanna Jaggal from Ward 17 have filed their nomination papers.
All Goa Congress Committee Minority Department Chairman and MMC Councilor Saifullah Khan along with his supporters had also come to file nomination papers, but he reached after closure of filing nomination timing. Mamlatdar advised Khan to file his nomination on Tuesday.
Councilor Seby D’Souza also reached late and was advised to come on Tuesday.
The last date for filing nomination papers is on October 11, forms will be scrutinized on October 12 and withdrawal on October 13.
