MARGAO: Accused Joel Gracias, Orgao-Loutolim, Maxol Fernandes, Salmadi-Cuncolim, Mario Fernandes, Curra-Raia and Llyod Esteves, Damon – Raia who are arrested by Maina Curtorim police on Saturday, Sept 7 for attempt to murder and threatening under Section 307 and 506(ii) IPC have been remanded for five days police custody when produced before JMFC, Margao.
It may be recalled that the four accused were arrested by police after victim Francisco Barretto, Sanfot-Loutolim alleged that the four accused on September 5 when they had gone for a bath at Solva, Raia spring forced him to drink rum, tortured and made him eat Ratol cake and paste and that he was also inflicted cigarette burns on neck. Barretto is presently admitted at the GMC. It is learnt that Special Magistrate SB Faria recorded dying declaration of Barretto.
Meanwhile the police are trying to verify the source from were Ratol was purchased as the accused are said to have stated that the victim himself purchased it.
